Danny Huffman

Aquatics Coordinator/Head Coach

Coach Huffman comes to Angleton, Texas with his family of five with the goal of helping the community build a well rounded aquatics program. Coach Huffman is an ASCA level III coach and is currently the UIL Swimming Committee Chairman with Texas Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association.

He has helped to build strong programs in Cleveland, Tennessee where he helped the Cleveland Aquatigers quadruple in size and build two summer league feeders of over 100 swimmers on each team.

He traveled to Mansfield, Texas in 2006 and helped start Mansfield Aquatic Club while also coaching Mansfield High School. While with MAC, Coach Huffman helped to develop numerous swimmers into TAGS finalists and TAGS champions. During his tenure, Mansfield High School broke nearly every school record and achieved the Texas 5A State Championship meet with 11 different athletes, 5 of which were named High School All-Americans.

In 2010, he and his family moved to take the reigns of the Deer Park High School aquatics programs. While in Deer Park, Coach Huffman helped build Deer Park into a regional powerhouse with 28 different athletes achieving school records 56 times. Ten athletes developed into All-State, with one achieving High School All-American, and another achieving USA Swimming’s Junior National level. Six athletes went on to compete in College. As well, he started the BLAST Swim Team that grew to over one hundred year round USA swimmers in the team’s first three years.

This is Brazoria County’s newest Aquatic Center. At 60 meters by 25 yards and holding 890,000 gallons of water, it is also Brazoria County’s largest pool. Our pool serves multiple AISD Aquatics programs and will host several local and regional meets in the coming year.
